While I wore it as a baby, I didn’t appreciate my homemade crewel bibs from my grandmother then, but I do now. As a mother, I have let my daughter wear both the pink and 70s avocado green one (sometimes backwards to preserve the front decorative side) and my heart is warmed from the love I have known and the love I give. I know my grandmother is smiling in heaven for a gift which kept on giving.

When I was little my dad carved me a TINY little heart shaped box, that opened wing-like. I still have it, and it holds one of his mothers rings.

Every year my sister-in-law and her kids make ornaments for my kids. They are always so clever and have their names and the year on them. These with be keepsakes for us for many years to come.

My favorite handmade gift that I received is this blanket that my sister knit for me when I was expecting my second child.
