USA Archives - Where Women Create

Hi everyone! So excited for this opportunity! I'm Ashley from Lil Blue Boo and I have an insatiable desire to make things. I love sewing, silk screening, painting, photography, journaling, and power tools. I love inventing my own unique processes (i.e. I usually don't read directions) and sharing and encouraging others to find their own creative streak. I've met the most amazing community of positive, creative women through Lil Blue Boo and I pinch myself everyday that I've been able to pursue what I love! I love a good mess…..and so does my daughter "Boo." There's nothing I enjoy more than watching what my 4-year-old can do with a few buckets of paint and a 6 foot canvas. My hope for her is to have fearless creativity:

Originally from North Carolina, my wonderfully supportive, loving husband and I moved to southern California to pursue a more balanced lifestyle. We both left investment banking jobs to pursue what we love. It was a huge leap of faith and we've never looked back!

Out of my love for clothing creation grew my Lil Blue Boo clothing line and pattern line. Lil Blue Boo clothing is an eclectic mix of original hand cut silk screens, vintage finds, recycled fabrics, and comfortable style. I have an amazing team of local women that I employ who all share the same passion I do for handmade, quality clothing that is made in the USA. We make everything "in-house" from the original patterns to the silk screened size labels!

I have a serious obsession for color, fabric and trinkets and I've pretty much taken over every available work space in the house and we are working on expanding a larger workspace. I love peeking into other people's work areas….which is why I am such a huge fan of Where Women Create! You can see the evolution of my painting and sewing studios at Lil Blue Boo. My workspace changes almost daily as my business grows and I have to find more room:
