I was so amazed at the wonderful comments regarding my piece, “Mama”. The quote: “In the raising of my children, I will quietly leave my mark,” seemed to resonate with so many. Marcie the winner is in my on-line workshop and I’m so pleased she won. I wanted to offer to do little 8×10 versions of this piece (the giveaway piece is 12×18) for any WWC reader who wants one…for only $22. Same image and quote, same fabrics (although no two are ever alike). They sell for $46 on my site. This is just for WWC fans and blog readers and only for a few days. "In the raising of my children I will quietly leave my mark" reads the inscription in this one-of-a-kind creation by KC Willis. KC is a talented fabric artist who captures the sprit and essence of the Women of the West. As she says:

"In my work I step back in time and bring to you the look and feel of the Old West. I find in the Women of the West, a never-ending source of inspiration. While I do take the creative liberty of writing the quotes myself, I always hope I am capturing the essence of the women I see … sometimes they seem to actually speak the words out loud to me. In this way, "my girls" actually bring a message from the past to today. I believe that if you are drawn to a particular piece it is because, if you look very closely, you will find yourself looking back at you."
